Hospitality/Mixed Use

In the world of ever increasing multi-tasking, we are finding ourselves multi-tasking our daily routines including Live, Work and Play all in the same location. Design of mixed use facilities throughout the US is a prominent part of AHA's resume including Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Washington, DC and New England. Hospitality design ranges from simple minimal service hotels to full service hotels with conference centers and central physical plants. Retail plays an important part in mixed use facilities and all components need to be fully integrated without compromising the quality of the adjacent use.

City Place

West Palm Beach, Florida

City Place Tower is a mixed-use facility with hurricane-resistant design and construction. The building is a 12-Story high rise office that includes a retail facility and a four level parking deck. The office building had to be built under post-Hurricane Andrew codes. Other features include the fact that it was constructed at an elevation exceeding the 100-year flood zone, has superior immediate infrastructure-CityPlace had full power restored within 24 hours following Hurricane Wilma, and advanced disaster protection systems. The building also has continuous power back-up equal to 100% peak load demand, multiple high-speed internet connections for constant connectivity, and a state-of-the-art security systems & 24 hour manned security.

Station Landing

Medford, Massachusetts

AHA provided MEP design for multiple phases of this waterfront development. This mixed use community was designed in the spirit of smart growth and new urbanism; an initiative to encourage transit-oriented communities and combat urban sprawl . This 1 million SF mixed use complex includes 650 residential units, 100,000 SF of retail space, 165,000 SF of Class A commercial office space, 190 room hotel and 1,350 SF parking garage.

Lorien Hotel

Alexandria, Virginia

The hotel was having multiple HVAC issues, which was affecting multiple areas including the hotel restaurant. AHA provided a mechanical study to locate the issues that were troubling the hotel, and offered design solutions to rectify the multiple problems that were concerning the hotel owner.

500 Atlantic Avenue

Boston, Massachusetts

AHA provided MEP design for this 950,000 SF mixed use building that includes a 420 unit luxury hotel, condos, retail and parking that is 3-Levels below grade.  This building also has central utilities including district steam.
