AHA helps clients reduce the carbon emissions of their buildings through tailored Decarbonization Studies, identifying cost-effective measures that balance sustainability and operational performance.

Each study begins with a collaborative conversation to understand the client’s carbon reduction goals, to establish the study’s scope, and to learn about building’s existing systems and operations.

Based on these insights, our study identifies Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and Carbon Reduction Measures (CRMs) tailored to the building, grounded by AHA’s engineering expertise. We estimate energy savings and carbon reduction potential for each measure, and in more detailed studies, provide building-specific energy modeling, cost estimates, and payback analysis. We also assess opportunities for on-site renewables and green energy purchases.

Clients use our Decarbonization Studies as actionable roadmaps for integrating carbon reduction into capital planning. AHA has applied this approach across lab and office portfolios throughout Boston and Cambridge, equipping building owners with the insights needed to advance toward a decarbonized, sustainable future.
