Remembering Arthur Abbood, Co-Founder of AHA

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Arthur Abbood, co-founder of AHA Consulting Engineers, a visionary engineer, entrepreneur, and industry leader whose influence continues to shape AHA and the broader building engineering community. Â
In August 1991, Arthur co-founded Abbood/Holloran Associates with Marty Holloran, establishing the firm during a challenging economic period with a clear vision for excellence, integrity, and collaboration. That firm later became AHA Consulting Engineers, carrying forward his legacy in both name and spirit—Arthur being the first “A” in AHA. Widely known and deeply respected throughout the industry, Arthur was regarded as a giant in his field. Those who worked with him remember not only his technical expertise and leadership, but also the lasting personal and professional impact he had on colleagues, partners, and clients alike. Â
His influence reached far beyond those who knew him directly; through the company he helped create, Arthur positively affected generations of engineers and professionals who followed. Arthur’s legacy lives on in the culture, values, and success of AHA, and in the many careers and lives shaped by his guidance and example. The firm’s continued growth stands as a testament to the vision he shared with Marty more than three decades ago. Â
He is remembered with gratitude, respect, and admiration by those who were touched, directly or indirectly, by his life’s work.
