AHA Consulting Engineers, a leading building performance and sustainability firm, has been selected as the City of Boston’s third-party data verifier under the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) — the city’s landmark policy requiring large buildings to report energy use and meet mandatory emissions reduction targets as Boston works toward a net-zero carbon future.

In this role, AHA will independently verify energy and water data across the City’s portfolio of 369 municipal buildings, ensuring reported information is accurate, complete, and compliant with BERDO requirements.

This selection builds on AHA’s existing work with the Boston Housing Authority, where we have verified data for 515 buildings under the same program. Combined, AHA has more BERDO verification experience than any other firm — bringing proven processes, deep program knowledge, and a trusted track record to one of Boston’s most important climate initiatives.
