Vertex
Pharmaceuticals - The Largest Private Construction Project in the US
AHA is proud to be a part of the design team for the two Vertex Fan Pier towers being constructed in Boston's Seaport district. Vertex Pharmaceutical's relocation from Cambridge to the Boston Seaport has been one of the most talked about stories in the last year as it is the largest private construction project in the US. The two build to suit buildings total 1.1MSF, and construction costs are estimated at $900M.
AHA has provided MEP design for both the core and shell and fit outs for both buildings, and all of the design work is being completed in Revit! Each building includes 16 stories of lab and office space with three levels of parking under both. Specialized design is being done for this high-level project which includes Vivariums, BSL-2 labs, Chemistry labs, MRI spaces, Radiology labs, Wet labs, and much more.
AHA Consulting Engineers is Awarded
eBay's Project Quicksilver
AHA along with architectural firm, Winter Street Architects have been selected to design eBay's Data Center in Utah.
Project Quicksilver will house a Tier 2 flexible data center infrastructure that can move and change with eBay’s business needs. This Day One 4 MW high density data center is expandable to 30 MW. The design will incorporate efficient year-round free cooling while also being flexible enough to offer power distribution and low density solutions, similar to those achieved in Project Mercury. The team was among 20 entrants in an open RFP design process, intended to prompt creativity and innovation in data center design while achieving modularity, scalability and reliability. This new facility is scheduled to be finished by December 2012.

UPenn Music Building Awarded LEED® Gold
The University of Pennsylvania is proud of the third building on campus to achieve LEED® Certification, and this time earning LEED® Gold. AHA provided MEP/FP design, LEED® administration, energy model, and developed the Measurement & Verification plan for this 25,000 square foot renovation and addition to the Music Building for the School of Arts and Sciences. This educational building achieved LEED® certification from credits for site sustainability, indoor environmental quality, energy conservation, water efficiency, materials and resources conservation, and innovative and design process.
River's Edge Awarded LEED® Gold
The first office building of River's Edge in Medford, MA has been awarded LEED® Gold Certification. The building's project team included AHA Consulting Engineers along with Gensler, The Green Engineer, Shadley Associates, Tetra Tech Rizzo and John Moriarty Associates. River's Edge is an inner-suburban, master-planned development. The 115,000 square foot office building at 200 River's Edge Drive achieved LEED certification from credits for site sustainability, indoor environmental quality, energy conservation, water efficiency, materials and resources conservation, and innovative and design process.
